Program Information
Professional Massage Training Center currently offers two, 900-hour massage therapy programs allowing students to specialize in Clinical or Spa Massage Therapy. Both programs will take approximately one year to complete.
Graduates in each program are qualified to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM). After passing the NCETM, graduates in each program are qualified to apply for licensure with the State of Missouri.
Clinical Massage Therapy Program:
Our Clinical Massage Therapy program is founded on the principles of Precision Neuromuscular Therapy: accurate assessment, precise treatment and stellar results. Clinical students learn how to integrate clinical reasoning, apply treatment principles and create therapy strategies to effectively treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Students in the clinical program will also receive training in the principles of Sports Massage.
Research demonstrates massage therapy addresses serious health issues by relieving symptoms associated with a variety of conditions. Clinical massage therapists work in a number of different settings - neuromuscular clinics, hospitals, chiropractic offices, sports medicine clinics physical therapy offices, rehabilitation centers and private practices.
Spa Massage Therapy Program:
Students in our Spa Massage Therapy program learn about spa body treatments and how to effectively administer them. Spa students are trained to use material such as sugar glows, mud, seaweed and learn how to incorporate hydrotherapy application, aromatherapy, stone massage, Thai Massage and many other treatments to relax or revitalize clients. Many of these therapies also stimulate natural detoxification of the body.
Spas are the largest employers of massage therapists, and massage is the number one requested service at spas. Spa massage therapists enjoy luxury surroundings and benefit from contact with a wide variety of wellness professionals.
Class Schedules:
Professional Massage Training Center offers classes in both programs on two schedules designed to meet your individual needs.
Daytime
Students on a daytime schedule will attend classes two days each from 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00pm-1:00pm.
Evening/Weekend
Students on an evening/weekend schedule will attend classes two nights a week from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Additionally, two weeks each month students will attend classes Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00pm-1:00pm.
